The Mary E. Bivins Tropical Conservatory is a year-round garden consisting of an environment comparable to that of tropical areas, including the rainforests. Complete with pond and waterfall, our tropical conservatory is filled from top to bottom with towering palms, ferns, flowering plants, bananas and trees, including the South American Kapok Tree.
Aside from the fascinating plants that can be found inside, the architecture of the building itself is an emerging fete as well as a work of art. The conservatory is what is known as a ‘green building’, whereas it is a self containing system, using minimal energy. For more information on Green Building please visit: www.architecture2030.org
