VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Interested in Volunteering? Here's What to Expect

Volunteers are needed throughout the Gardens in a variety of areas:

EDUCATION

Educational volunteers will lead tours, help develop youth educational programs, teach classes and provide other classroom assistance. This opportunity is great for retired teachers or those who love children.

GARDEN DOCENTS

ABG docents will lead visitor tours, answer questions and share insight about the Gardens. Volunteers should be energetic, enthusiastic and comfortable speaking to groups. Training and tour materials will be provided.

HORTICULTURE

Both indoor and outdoor opportunities are available. Volunteers should be prepared for physical activity including kneeling, bending, lifting, etc. Conservatory care includes pruning, watering, mulching and sweeping. Outdoor grounds maintenance includes seeding, mulching, planting, etc. or helping with repotting in the greenhouse.

ADMISSION BOOTH

Help us make a great first impression. Greet visitors, assist with questions, offer directions and accept tickets. Must enjoy working with the public.

ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT

Administrative volunteers assist with general office tasks, answer phones, greet the public, etc.

TRADE

Volunteers are needed to work on lights, help with general maintenance jobs or to provide other needed services such as carpentry or painting.
